Church Logo - Community of Hope

Community of Hope Church is a new church plant set to be implemented in 2024 whose mission is to create emphasize close community and support families with additional needs.

The first concern of the client was the over-saturation of church names and logo designs. Most churches lean toward a small selection of faith-based design elements and icons, creating a sea of similarities. The client wanted to draw inspiration from churches with less cliche logos such as Lifepoint Swansea and Compassion Church, which use more abstract elements to communicate their mission.

The mission of CoH leans towards care and support. Several calmer colors were used, before settling on the two colors shown: Seafoam green and a pastel yellow. The green creates a feeling of growth and generosity. In contrast to the green, the pastel yellow lends itself to a cream hue, communicating peace and purity.

Simplicity was important to this design to offset the long church name. the two circles represent several things. first, the cream circle resting on the green represents the hope given by Christ resting on the world. It also lends itself to the sun appearing from behind the earth, another representation of hope. Circles were used to represent the bonds and security of the community, a "circle" of friends and family. The size of the green circle emphasizes the main importance of the church's mission to create a community on earth, while the hope of Christ simply rests upon it.

All of the work done on this logo was through Adobe Illustrator, which provided the necessary tools for shape and text manipulation.
